We are pleased to introduce the new HE-5LE headphones from HiFiMan. After their first foray in to the headphone world with the wildly successful HE-5, HiFiman have upgraded the design and produced an even better sounding product!

Sticking close to the original design, the HE-5LE utilises the same planar magnetic technology; printed circuits on a very thin and flat diaphragm placed in a uniform magnetic field. This time round the driver coating has been made thinner, resulting in an improved low end and better performance with a variety of headphone amplifiers.

The HE-5LE now use plastic cups for better durability and long-term performance. Further, HiFiMan have improved the quality of the cable, and it is now terminated with a Neutrik XLR allowing it to be used with balanced headphone amplifiers! A high quality Neutrik XLR>6.3mm connector is included as standard for use with conventional headphone amplifiers.

Much like the HE-5, a high powered headphone amplifier for the HE-5LE is essential – these require a lot of juice to drive to its full potential. HiFiMan's own EF5 is one such amplifier having specifically designed to power the HE-5LE, and can be found HERE.
